The 2027 ThirtyTwo Volcom Cosm is a hard-charging tapered directional snowboard built for riders who want to explore the entire mountain. Inspired by the SNAFU, its Directional Camber / Rocker profile, Directional Carbon Boost Stringers, and tapered shape deliver powerful edge hold, responsive performance, and confident stability at speed. Featuring Pow Kick, a 20mm setback, and 6mm taper, the Cosm provides effortless float in powder while staying precise on groomers and technical terrain. With a lightweight Poplar and Paulownia core, Biax Fiberglass, and Premium Sintered Base 8.4M, this board is ready to charge everything from steep lines to deep storm days.

Shape: Tapered Directional
A tapered directional snowboard features a wider nose and a narrower tail, designed to improve float in powder and enhance control in deeper snow. This shape helps the board stay naturally lifted at the front while the tail sinks slightly, making turns smoother and more effortless in soft or variable conditions. Ideal for freeride and all-mountain riding, it delivers stability, confidence, and strong performance in one primary direction.

Profile: Directional Camber/Rocker Hybrid + Pow-Kick Nose & Tail Rise
Traditional camber under back foot and middle section provides power and stability, paired with rockered nose for enhanced float.

Aggressively swept nose and tail profiles extend the rise point beyond the traditional contact points, increasing surface area for enhanced flotation in deep snow. This design helps the board plane effortlessly in powder while maintaining smooth transitions and a playful, surf-inspired feel across varied terrain.

Core: 20 mm Poplar / 20 mm Paulownia
Constructed with a balanced blend of 20 mm Poplar and 20 mm Paulownia, this core combines strength, responsiveness, and reduced weight. Poplar delivers consistent flex and durability, while lightweight Paulownia helps keep the board agile and lively, creating a versatile ride with excellent power transfer and all-mountain performance.

Sidecut: Progressive Five-Radius Blend
A variable edge profile is engineered to adapt seamlessly to different turn shapes and riding speeds, delivering smooth, effortless turn initiation without sacrificing control. As edge pressure increases, it provides enhanced grip and precision, creating a confident, locked-in feel whether carving groomers or navigating technical terrain.

Laminate: Biax Fiberglass + Directional Power Carbon Stringers
Bi-Lite Laminates have fibres running in two directions, providing strength, power, and a forgiving board feel.
Directional Power Carbon Stringers to deliver powerful edge hold, energetic response, and confident stability at speed. 

Sidewall: RailGuard Sidewalls
High-density, impact-resistant inserts are strategically integrated to help prevent core damage, delamination, and cracking caused by repeated impacts. Designed to withstand the demands of park riding and aggressive freestyle progression, they enhance durability without compromising performance or board feel.

Topsheet: Impact Shield Topsheet
Protective armour reinforcement helps shield the board’s internal laminates from impacts and wear, preserving structural integrity through heavy use. This added layer of durability enhances long-term performance while helping maintain the board’s finish season after season.

Edge: Hardened Steel Edge.
By using recycled steel you get an eco-friendly and strong edge.

Base: Premium Sintered Base 8.4M
Built with a high molecular density construction, this base delivers excellent durability, impressive wax retention, and a fast, consistent glide. Designed for riders who demand reliable speed and long-lasting performance, it provides the confidence to charge hard in all snow conditions.
