Burton Snowboards, in partnership with Red Bull Media House, presents PAVED — a full-length, unfiltered snowboard odyssey two years in the making, following the Burton Team as they push backcountry progression to the next level.


PAVED is Burton’s most ambitious film in years, a raw snapshot of this generation’s impact on backcountry freestyle snowboarding. Opening in Alaska with veterans Mark McMorris and Danny Davis alongside Mikkel Bang, Ben Ferguson, and Brock Crouch, the journey flows through Japan’s powder, British Columbia’s wild terrain, Tahoe, and beyond.

From heli-drops to hand-built booters, the riding reaches the sport’s highest level while keeping the tone loose, humorous, and real. Narrated with a dry wink, PAVED blends heavy sessions with candid moments, revealing the personalities, camaraderie, and energy that drive the Burton crew.

A Burton and Red Bull Media House co-production directed by Ian Durkin and produced by Pirate Movie Productions, PAVED mixes film, photography, and illustration into an unfiltered portrait of snowboarding at its purest. Showcasing stories of resilience, first-time breakthroughs, and next-level progression across stunning terrain, the film also features exclusive footage from Burton’s upcoming winter collection.
 
 
THE CAST

 
Mark McMorris: “I wanted to do this film because team movies were what I grew up looking forward to—they have a huge impact on the community and industry. With Burton and Red Bull’s unique team, it was a no-brainer to bring us all together. One of the most memorable days was our first filming day of 2025. The biggest challenge was juggling Olympic qualifiers with film trips—it definitely kept me on my toes.”

Zeb Powell: “I wanted to film for this movie to challenge myself—riding in the backcountry, putting myself in new situations, and learning from them. The most memorable moments were learning to ride a snowmobile in the backcountry and mastering proper turns in powder.”
 
 
Anna Gasser: “Every day riding powder and hitting jumps with the team was amazing. The biggest challenge was snowmobiling—I struggled at first, but the team was patient and helped me get unstuck. I was honored to be part of the film, though I wish I could have spent more time with the crew. Balancing filming with my competition schedule was tough, and conditions weren’t always ideal, but I was stoked on the few great days I got.”
 
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott: “Filming PAVED in year one was challenging as I was coming back from an injury. I was juggling ankle rehab, competition prep, and giving my all in the backcountry. I learned that finding balance is easier said than done, but snowboarding in so many different ways keeps me sane. Still, sometimes it’s fun to tip the scales and go all in.”
